Running away to Japan. What do I need?

i wouldnt run away ... you should tell ur parents that you want to go to japan and maybe they will pitch in and help the cost... also going with a friend would also help against loneliness and being by yourself in a different country. and to answer your question 4800 dollars is only enough for the plain ticket and maybe a week or 2 in japan (and thats only if u live in an affordable hotel..) japan is an expensive place for food especially if you are in tokyo where the prices are really high.... i would first plan and see what i where i want to go in japan before actually going there on a limb because u might end up stranded and regretful... plan ahead!! also you might be able to go for a study abroad program if ur college has one or you can just look with different programs... but overall you shouldn't run away
