If I was in your position I wouldn't try to be mysterious about it - that's more likely to scare someone off. If you can communicate openly with one another and are happy whichever way it goes then you could just bring it up casually in conversation. I'd pose it as a half-serious hypothetical question like "how do you think we would work as a couple?"
